Wonder what it is like to try to find Cuvier’s beaked whales offshore of North Carolina? It is helpful to start on a really nice day with no wind so we can most easily spot the animals from a distance. Patience also helps as these animals can dive for over 2 hours at a time. The average is closer to an hour for deep foraging dives, however, and shorter shallower dives in between foraging tend to be about 20 minutes long. Check out the video below edited by Zach Swaim.
